About
New World Symphony reunites with the Master Chorale of South Florida for an evening of mysterious masterworks for orchestra and chorus.
Vaughan Williams’ Toward the Unknown Region is a choral adaptation of a Walt Whitman poem that ponders undreamed of, boundless futures. Conductor Stephanie Childress leads the forever-young New World Symphony in bringing fresh energy to Mozart’s Requiem, a choral epic that proved to be the composer’s last. Mozart fell ill while writing the famous Lacrimosa of his funeral mass, sparking rumors of a deadly rivalry immortalized in the Oscar winning film Amadeus.
