This season the New World Symphony launches its much-anticipated Mobile WALLCAST® Concert Series as an essential part of its commitment to make symphonic music accessible to audiences beyond the New World Center.

The second concert of the series takes place Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Family Music Day in partnership with the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center. Click here for more information and to RSVP for this free event.

The New World Symphony’s groundbreaking WALLCAST® Concerts allow concertgoers to experience great music while enjoying an evening under the stars in SoundScape Park. The Mobile WALLCAST®, first unveiled at SoundScape Park in May 2022, brings the WALLCAST® experience on the road and into communities around Miami.

January 7: Family Music Day at the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center

NWS continues its community centered Mobile WALLCAST® Concert Series on Saturday, January 7, 2023 with Family Music Day at the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center (AHCAC) in Liberty City. Families are invited to experience an arts-filled afternoon with visual and performing arts activities presented by some of Miami’s own local artists and arts organizations. This event is free to the public and all ages are welcome.

NWS and the AHCAC have partnered to curate a multi-disciplinary arts festival focused on youth education through an artistic lens. Festival activities include musical story readings, hands-on workshops, and live performances featuring the New Canon Chamber Collective, Young Musicians Unite’s jazz ensemble, members of NWS’s College Track Mentorship program and NWS Fellows. The evening culminates with NWS’s second Mobile WALLCAST® Concert.

During the event, musicians and staff from New World Symphony will hand out 50 free tickets to see Grammy Award winner Branford Marsalis perform at the New World Center on February 7.

This Mobile WALLCAST® Concert is made possible with the support of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor, and Board of County Commissioners.
